Things you can do for wedding planning during this time!

Kelsey, on April 20, 2020 at 1:56 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 8

I have noticed some posts about what to for wedding planning during this time, since so many places are closed. I just wanted to share a few things I have gotten done since we can't do too much.

1. I finished addressing all of my invites (we have no plans to postpone); I am happy I have this done because I could completely seeing myself rushing to get this done in time next month.

2. Contact your vendors; make sure things are still good on their end.

3. My DJ sent me a list of songs that we need to pick for dances, entrances, etc. He said he normally does it closer but figured this would be a good time for us to work on it. FYI my FH and I have some majorly different ideas so it might take the entire stay at home time frame for us to complete lol.

4. Catering companies are still open. I emailed my caterer letting them know I would like to schedule something once this whole thing is done for trying appetizers. They got back to me and let me know they could also arrange for us to pick up the items we want to try so we didn't have to delay this; plus I'm sure they will be busy once this ends. My FH is picking up our selection on Thursday!

5. I finalized my registry. It's up and ready to go, right now my shower is scheduled for June 6th; while I think this should be rescheduled my mom is way more optimistic than me and thinks we will be fine. Please don't come at me for this one; I tried and failed talking her out of it.

6. Spend time with your FH/ FS. Enjoy being with them. I think once things start getting better my FH and I are going to have a lot on our to do lists for the wedding and we might be very busy. Remember ladies this will end and things will get better before we know it!

Thank you!! I know it's hard to stay positive (last week was bad for me) but I am trying so hard to stay positive about this and that things will get better. I just want other brides to know despite everything going on there are still things to work on and look forward to!

This is great! I've been working on designing signs and other decor items. I also put together a document for our decorator with my finalized rental choices and ideas. I think I'm going to start on our playlists for the DJ next.

We are doing boho/romantic style decor. Colors are burgundy, taupe, and a really pale blush pink. Our wedding is in a barn, so I just want it to be really whimsical. Smiley smile Below are some photos from my inspiration document!

I am making my honeymoon sun hat, decorating not so bridal-y espadrilles, fitting my own lingeries, and fitting 2 more dresses for my bridesmaids after that. Many things to keep me busy. And when my eyes starting to get tired for looking close up, I do gardening. I haven’t done much gardening this year 🙊

Oh that's awesome! I think staying busy right now is the best idea. I do not have a green thumb, but that's great that you are gardening I bet that is relaxing!
