Hey, guys!
So, we’re having our wedding outdoors in South Texas in January (the low will probably be 40-50 and the high would generally be 65-75). We have rented a clear top, structured tent, along with tables, chairs, etc. and most of our decorations and outdoor seating is already onsite or in storage. It’s at the family home.
We were planning on taking the week before (if the weather permits: note; this is driest week on record for Texas when it isn’t also blazing hot) to set everything up and get everything prepared for finalizing decorations on the night before/morning of.
One thing I hadn’t thought about- is even with good weather, things get dewy! My grandmother brought it up and says that I should tarp EVERYTHING (as if I was moving out of an old mansion or something), and even place a tarp under it. Would this help? We have 50+ pieces of lounge-type couches, chairs, and ottomans; not to mention the side tables, rugs, dividers, etc. It seems like a bit much to tarp everything and at the same time, too much to expect our groomsmen to move it all in one day, maybe? We have 5 groomsmen.
Does anyone know what to do about dew? Should I cover everything and keep it under the tent until the literal morning of? I guess I could mark all of the objects with marker over the tarps to direct where it needs to be. The tent is on/covering our gravelI driveway. I won’t be able to oversee any decorating on the day-of as the wedding is at 3:20 and I won’t leave the inside of the home again until the ceremony starts... One thing I’m most worried about is the rugs getting moist and I assume that I definitely have to keep them rolled up until we pass the dew point that morning...
Anyways, thank you so much for your responses and I’m excited to see if anyone’s has faced this dew-dlhema😂!
