Thinking about shortening my wedding dress...

I love my dress so much and I'd love to be able to keep wearing it. However, I'm looking for ideas on how to convert it from wedding to cocktail! My seamstress said we can shorten it and dye it. Would love to see what others have done if they kept their wedding dress and shortened it...

For reference, this is my dress: stella york 6933

    What a pretty dress! What colour would you dye it? I think I'd probably cut it just above the knees? Or, the other option would be to make it mid-calf length.

    You could also just take the train off and die it black - it would be a gorgeous evening dress!
