Thirty Days Out and I Can't Stop Crying

Amy, on April 2, 2015 at 12:17 PM Posted in Planning 0 18

So our wedding is in 30 days and I'm an emotional wreck. There has been virtually no drama throughout the whole planning process, and we've had a pretty long engagement (16 months when all is said and done). I've been lucky! But for the past few weeks I have been incredibly weepy. Don't get me wrong, it's all good tears, but emotions are running high. I'm just so excited that all my emotion is leaking out of my eyes - lol Does anyone have any similar stories to share and some recommendations for coping?

Hi date twin. I do not have any similar stores and I can not give you any recommendations. I have not had a "oh shit" moment yet. Just hang in there. WE GOT 30 DAYS TO GO!!!! Best wish to you

I'm about a month behind you, so i haven't quite hit that point, but i may yet! find a relaxing and non-wedding related activity to help calm your nerves. Bubble bath with wine, doing your nails, meditating, working out...whatever works for you! Good luck!

Also 30 days out and same thing. I am an emotional person to start with but I almost seem to be seeking out things that make me want to cry. I keep picking up romantic books, chick flicks, and dramas if I want entertainment. I have been weirdly unemotional about the wedding till the last few days really. AND IT IS HITTING ME LIKE A TON OF BRICKS. Nice bricks but it felt like switching a flip when I went for my first fitting last week.

Ha ha, not pregnant (it would be a miracle, as I'm 50).

And yeah, every time I imagine the day, I just get all pent up with emotion. I need to focus on non-wedding related relaxation for a few days.

Another date twin here! i'm not a crier, so no, I can't say I have that problem. I have that sense that i'm forgetting something big, though ... maybe something that would prevent me from going on my honeymoon or something ...

I felt the same way. I literally could not eat or sleep for 2 weeks before my wedding and cried every time I thought about walking down the aisle ( Suprisingly I did not cry when walking down the aisle but started bawling when I saw my flower girl for the first time all dressed up prior to the ceremony ). I was so relieved to feel normal again after the wedding was over.

I was like that the month before my wedding. I was working on last minute items (like writing a poem on the favors and writing out the escort cards). I was feeling good but emotional until 4 days before the wedding when I finished my final project and zipped up the honeymoon suitcase. Then the nerves hit HARD. I just had to keep telling myself "Breathe, everything's done. It's time to relax and enjoy the last few days until the wedding". You are almost there, try to enjoy each moment! (And like Rena, I didn't cry walking down the aisle, I think I did it all before the ceremony like when my sister read me her speech earlier in the day).

I'm more weepy then normal. Somebody sent that 47 bride thing today and I was all teary eyed. It sucks and needs to stop.

Yesterday FH wasn't home so I tried on my dress with my jewelry, my veil, and my flats (I'm having heels too but they haven't come in yet) and I started crying. Its starting to hit me! I didn't cry when I got my dress because I guess it wasn't real yet.

Maybe it's good it's happening now? So you'll be less so on the actual day? My boss got married last year and fully expected to ball her eyes out, but when the moment came, she said she wasn't weepy at all! There's hope for us emotional girls after all!

Ive been super weird the last day or so, well, actually the last week or so. Sorta feeling lonely in this whole thing, which is odd. Not so much weepy as just... mehhh.

@JK I get that sometimes too. Like if I don't have a project to do I'll be lost lol. @Amy I'm an emotional person in general but the last few MONTHS (oy vey) I get weepy over anything heartwarming or sappy or well, anything! I watch HGTV and cry when someone likes their home makeover! I'm hoping I'll be like the other ladies and just be calm as anything on the actual day Smiley smile

As a just-in-case. I'm walking down the aisle with a handkerchief wrapped around my bouquet stems. My grandmother from England can't come so my aunt and uncle are getting me an embroidered English lace handkerchief from Nottingham. I hope I don't have to use it!! But with the way things are going...

It hit me today that we have less than a month (4 weeks tomorrow) and I had to stop and catch my breath. I was pretty panicky about paying everything but got a surprise $600 bonus today and am feeling much better!
