Those of you who used Sola Flowers instead of real flowers....

FutureHennigan, on September 21, 2017 at 9:27 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 15

Who did you use?

After a long talk about our floral budget, and with the quotes we've been getting, we've decided to go with Sola flowers instead of live flowers for cost-saving purposes. Plus, I love that they don't just die the next day!

I found tons of Etsy sellers, but I'm wondering if anyone has specific recommendations (or sellers to avoid!)

Thanks in advance Smiley smile

I just got my bouquets from Southern Blooms Co. and I love them. They have good prices and customer service.

I am making my own Sola bouquets....it's even cheaper and it's not too hard!! I am a die hard fan of Sola Wood Flowers. Megan always has a sale going on and you can hand pick the flowers/colors. She sells everything you would need.

There is another website called luvmyflowers which I haven't used yet so I can't say much about them. Here is my bouquet. I also made 7 bridesmaids bouquets and 6 bouts for the guys. I would say I probably spent $200 on all of my supplies for those. Now I'm working on 20 centerpieces and have spent $120 so far. I may need to order a few more flowers.

Side view. I hate that it crops the pictures. It's definitely not as perfect as the pros but I'm happy with the money I have saved Smiley smile

Following! I recently ordered some bulk white sola flowers from ETsy seller BackyardGardener so I'm going to make some simple bridesmaid bouquets with those. Still debating about my own bouquet- I'd actually rather have sola flowers so I can keep them but I don't t know if I'm talented enough to make that.

@klowry you did awesome! I am SO not crafty or creative and I think my head would explode trying to make them myself - but props to you because that looks awesome!

I ordered mine from TheBackyardGardener on Etsy. I ordered all white and dyed them myself. I made my bouquet, 4 bridesmaids bouquets, a bouquet for my daughter, and bouts for all of the GM, dads, and moms. I used dried flower fillers from curiouscountrycreations.com.

I did not use sola flowers for my centerpeices, but I think the cost would have been about the same as what I paid for my hydrangeas.

@Danielle- did you do the custom with southern blooms? they seem very much like Ecoflower. I really wanted to order from them but they are completely back ordered and getting a ton of bad reviews.

I got mine from solawoodflowers.com and was happy with pricing, quality, shipping, everything. I do have one word of advice. Dying them yourself is a little challenging and messy. I thought this was a good idea initially, but ended up going back and buying the colors I needed.

I would steer clear of EcoFlower, bad experience there. I ordered with a 3 month lead time, to which they asked for an additional 3 months, to which I asked for a refund...which took over a month to get back my $200. Many phone calls and emails made to get it done too, ugh.

In the end, I made my own bouquet (with flowers from solawoodflowers.com) and like it more than the one I was going to get from Ecoflower.

@Jaclyn yes they make all of there bouquets custom. I told them my colors and sent them some pictures and then they sent me pictures throughout the whole process (dying to make sure I liked the colors, my bouquet , and then each bouquet after that before they sent anything).

I bought all my flowers from solawoodflowers.com and the dried flowers from curiouscountrycreation.com. Both have great customer service. I personally thinking the dying of the flowers was very simple.. a little time consuming letting them dry.. but easy. Use hot water and mix it was acrylic paint (done! Smiley smile.. look at previous posts on here.. tons of great info. I probably spent around $250 for all 6 bouquets, 4 corsages, TONS of bouts, and 30 centerpieces with 3-4 flowers each
