**This is not supposed to be a "feel sorry for me" post. It happened, it was sad, but we are dealing with it. This is just a word of warning to others, because we had no idea the warning signs and it may help someone else.**

When I was 7 weeks pregnant, I started having shooting shoulder pain, and anal pressure. It felt like a really bad knot in my shoulder and I was horribly constipated. This went on for about 3 days. I had no cramping in my abdomen or bleeding what so ever. It never once occurred to me that something was wrong with the baby. None of the signs were there. I had morning sickness, and everything. Half way through the third day, I was feeling sick so I laid down (I work from home). My cat started freaking out trying to get me up, which is not like her at all. When I did, everything went black for a few seconds. So I called my husband and we went to the ER. I had an ectopic pregnancy that had ruptured. The pain in my shoulder and anal pressure were due to..

@DMN i'm so sorry, I also suffered an ectopic. I really feel doctors should inform expectant moms of the signs. Thank god you got to the ER, many women die from ectopic pregnancies. And cases really vary, they don't always form in the fallopian tube, they can be in the ovary (that is where mine was), outside the uterus, etc., which means women can be further along in their pregnancy before showing signs. I hope you get well soon, I know the physical pain will be gone but the emotional pain will stay with you. Sending you lots of hugs.

Oh wow! I never knew that you could have an ectopic without spotting or pain on one side! Thanks for sharing through your sorrow. You are so sweet to think of warning others while going through your own physical and emotional pain! Sending peace and comfort your way!

Wow I am so sorry that you are going through this. I am glad you are alright and were able to get to ER before too much more happened. Thank you for letting us know because I definitely would not have had attributed shoulder pain or anal pressure to an ectopic pregnancy.

I"m so sorry. look, this is something I pretty much never talk about, but I've lost 2 pregnancies 3 children over the course of my adult life, and I questioned everything I did. even though the loss of the last unexpected pregnancy (I'm supposed to be sterile) was expected, I blamed myself for while because I took a light bike ride. I understand the feeling of wanting to get a explanation as to why this all happened. but please try to remember (when you are ready) that there's no way this was your fault.

but for now, please do all you can to get the most support you can, and talk about it whenever you need to.

after I lost twins several years ago I didn't really talk about it at all until their 16th birthday rolled around. now I made a cake for all my angel babies on their birthdays, and I don't care what anyone thinks about it. please give yourself permission to feel how ever you feel, and do whatever you need to do to deal with your pain. don't let anyone tell you that you shouldn't feel how you feel.

I'm very sorry this happened. for what it's worth, it's not your fault. but feel whatever you feel, and let yourself heal.

it's not fair, I know. with I could make it fair for the both of us. I'll be thinking about you a lot, and sending you hugs
