What do you think about having a Thursday Wedding? We are planning our wedding on a Thursday during the summer. We don't have many out of town guests.

I mean, to be brutally honest, I find it rude and a huge inconvenience. That being said, I would do my best to go to one for a VIP, but I personally already have all of my vacation days planned out for 2018 and 2019 so it would be hugely difficult to find two or three (depending on if OOT) extra days to take off when I only get 10 per year! If it's a local wedding, sure, I will be there, but my party will wear off after 10:30 pm!

If all of your guests are from your general area and are okay with this option, then go for it. I am certain that you get discounts for off peak days...

I'm a Saturday only wedding advocate. I'll pay double if I had to. But! I don't know too many people like me, most people don't mind a weekday wedding.

My youngest is having a Thursday wedding. We have already spoke to all the necessary people and they were happy to attend the wedding regardless of what day it was on. We originally thought it would be an issue since it is a Thursday, but since the majority of the guest list is from different states, they are all pleased that they will have time to explore (we are by Orlando) for the rest of the weekend. Another advantage of a weekday wedding is that it can be much less expensive then a weekend wedding. There will always be people who prefer a Friday or Saturday wedding but not everyone works Monday thru Friday. You will never make everybody happy either regardless of what day, date, time, season you pick there will always be someone who will have a complaint.

It's fine! A little hard for some people, but it'll be okay. Make sure you send out Save The Dates really early and include the day of the week on them so your guests know if they have to take off work. Also try to make it an evening wedding so those who have work and can't get off will hopefully be able to come after. It isn't that different from a Friday wedding, which is what I'm having. Smiley smile Also, obviously, if someone can't make it because of the day, make sure you aren't offended. Sometimes you can't help when you're scheduled to work, even with advance notice.

We had a Thursday wedding, 225 invited, and had minimal declines. Aside from our over seas Family which wouldn't have come any day of the week, we had about 15 declines.
