Tiffany Rings

Morgan, on January 15, 2017 at 7:24 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 13

Does anyone have a ring from Tiffany's and if you do, can you post a picture? Has anyone had their setting changed at Tiffany's (for example, you had the Tiffany solitaire but changed the setting to the Embrace)?

No Tiffany ring but I would think that what you're asking would be as simple as buying a new setting and just having the center diamond switched out.

Why do you have an issue with the fact that I gave advice as opposed to saying what I feel about it?

ETA: Had OP said "I have a 3 ct, $15k ring" that would have been different. Just because it's a Tiffany ring doesn't mean that it cost an obscene amount of money. She asked an actual question that can be answered as opposed to asking some vague question that can only be answered by herself and her FS.

I assume you would just buy the new setting and have the center stone from your original ring put in it. This question could also easily be answered by Tiffany, they have fantastic customer service.

I don't see this as a humblebrag either. If I have my ring worked on by anyone other than the place we got it from it voids the lifetime warranty. She's asking about something very specific and isn't throwing around costs.

Tiffany is pretty particular about changing their settings if I remember correctly as in that's not a thing they do

Why would it matter if she mentioned the price or size? If a bride came in here saying her FH got an awesome deal and her ring was 1k no one would say anything negative about her mentioning the price. It seems it's only a humblebrag if the cost is over whatever arbitrary number a poster finds acceptable.

    So annoying.

@LB I'm saying that if she came here just for the sole purpose of saying that she has a big ring or her FS spent a shit ton of money with no question being asked, that's when it's braggy.

I briefly (and let's be honest, on a whim and without really thinking it would come to fruition) asked Tiffany about making a custom ring to nest with my e-ring and they said they don't do custom unless it's over $50k. Not sure if this would be the same case here.

Also, this post is totally not a humble brag but I do think that term gets thrown around in a "to shame others" kind of way which isn't cool and is against CGs.

Thank you guys! I'm not at all trying to brag, just asking a genuine question to see if anyone has any experience doing this. There are actually some affordable rings at Tiffany's (you can get the Tiffany soleste round for $5k - that's obviously a lot of money but it seems like people spend around that amount for their e-rings!). Anyway, not trying to brag about having a specific ring, just trying to see if anyone has specific experience with this Smiley smile thank you for your responses!

Oh, I saw it there. It just didn't make any sense, that's all.

Morgan, I don't think this was a humblebrag and I apologize that you felt I did. I'm just pointing out the contradictions in what some posters choose to call a humblebrag.

Just a reminder ladies, it's against CG to bring up past posts to draw negative attention to another member.

So if it didn't make sense to you there, why would it all of a sudden make sense here? Did you think I wasn't going to stand by what I said? Because what I said in my reply to LB (as well as in the other thread) explains why I think some things fall in the category of a humblebrag and others don't. I feel like I was pretty clear.

If a person comes around not really asking a question and throwing around figures, it comes across as being braggy. In my opinion, that's what the other thread was doing.

Just because someone asks a question about a specific brand doesn't make it braggy, especially when they're asking a question that has a concrete answer...not one that is completely opinion. It may be common sense, but it's still an answerable question.

    Is it clear now?

Not clear at all, but also not worth a strike. So whatever, contradictions live on.
