Tight Budget Brides (rehearsal dinner)

Future Mrsclark031420, on March 12, 2018 at 5:41 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 46
So we are going to do a rehearsal dinner but we can't afford the fancy restaurants. We are looking into more pizza type of dinner. Something like this is something we could better afford. Anyone else doing a pizza type of dinner for the rehearsal?

I’m not doing one to save money and I don’t think it’s necessary. The food shouldn’t matter, I’m sure pizza is just fine!

We are doing pizza also! We are having it in our church's social hall after rehearsal. Mire laid back and we don't have to rush to get somewhere. Best wishes!

I am not doing a rehearsal dinner at all, but we did have my daughter's christening party at a nicer brick oven pizza restaurant and it was great!

I'm planning on it! We are getting married in a town park, and will just hang out at the picnic tables there for the rehearsal dinner. Our reception is very formal, so I feel like this is a nice way to just get some time to hang out and chill. We will either get pizzas delivered, or platters catered by a local restaurant. Most of the wedding party are beer drinkers, so we will bring coolers of beers, plus whatever our parents might want.

We're not doing it to save money because I'm sure we won't, but we're planning on taking the bridal party and our parents to a buffet pizza and games place since half the bridal party are kids, and most of the adults are kids at heart - even our parents and it sounds like a great way to have some fun and let loose the night before the wedding. It sounds way tackier than it is, lol.

    Point is, pizza is fine.

Lol that sounds like a blast. Part of the reason why I'm doing what I'm doing too. There's a volleyball court on the property of our ceremony and the groomsmen (and probably groom) are going to be itching to use it! It's a casual break before a big wedding!

I’m not doing pizza, but plan on sloppy chicken and pulled pork for my dad (who is allergic to chicken). We will have chips and veggies too. Do what makes you happy, as long as you feed everyone that you invited, I’d say you’re good!

The location of our wedding allows us to have the day before to decorate, so we will have the rehearsal there followed by pizza and soda/water.

Yes!! We weren't going to do it because why spend the money but we will need to do it with the type of ceremony we are having and a way to reduce family drama (his mom's boyfriend).

Yes! I'm also doing things a little different. We chose not to have parents at the rehersal and we are just getting some pizza for the wedding party back at our hotel. I just want a relaxing night without some of the drama both sets of parents have been causing.

If you’re not having a rehearsal on a day that’s different from your wedding day, then s rehearsal dinner is unnessary. Unless you are having some kind of religious ceremony, rehearsals in general are unnessary as well.

if you must have a rehearsal, there is nothing wrong with pizza, as long as you are feeding those folks who are taking extra time out to attend a rehearsal.

We didn’t have a rehearsal (so no RD) but we did host OOT family and friends plus local family who wanted to spend more time with the OOTers. We had about 35 people at our house and catered from. Kosher deli (think fat corned beef, pastrami and turkey sandwiches, knishes, pickles, sides). We’re in NY so our Miami family was pumped about deli. We had Dr. Browns soda, wine, beer, cider and classic NY desserts (B&W cookies, babka, rugelach). Everyone was very happy!

We are also doing pizza and breadsticks. After rehersal we are all going to the reception hall to decorate so we thought this would be easiest.

We weren’t a tight budget wedding, but the RD wasn’t something that was important to us. We had food catered to our hotel suite, a cake from sams and a sushi tray from Publix, anyone was welcome to come get some food and had a little beer and wine. We spent $230 for 25 people. Other places we looked at would have been at least $1800

We are planning a picnic type rehearsal dinner. We are having a fall wedding so outside conditions permitting we are going to go to a park and have a cookout and play some yard games.

Pizza sounds great and everyone loves pizza. If you’re on a budget it’s a good idea. My friend did pizza and asked everyone to wear white T-shirt’s and jeans for that casual and comfy feel..she bought red baseball hats for everyone with their names embroidered...it was really cute
