Time frame

So our photographer is a tell me when to be there and end time. What would be the best time frame for him to be there? Our ceremony starts at 2:30 but would like some before pictures and then everything will be ending around 12/1am and just want him long enough to get cute pictures with our guest/ family and then hopefully to capture some good dance floor moments.

Is the photographer a professional? If so, they make timelines every day as part of their job description. So trust their professional opinion based on the ceremony start time and if you want all pictures with your fiancé before the ceremony or none.

So my ceremony started at 530. The photographers showed up for getting ready photos at 1pm, at 2 we went to the first look location. From 230-4 we did all the formal pictures at our photo location. By 415 we were at the venue and they took some photos at the venue and detail shots of the ceremony. Guests arrived at 5.

If you want them to stay for something at the end of the night (like an exit) that's totally fine, but if you just want all the big moments and some dance floor stuff then they can almost always get all the dance floor/party shots within 30-60 minutes of the dance floor being open. So no need to keep them past that point
