Timeline Advice

Hi everyone!

We’re having a microwedding in October next year and I have almost everything booked with the exception of hair and makeup. A lot of hair/makeup places I’ve reached out to require a minimum number to go onsite. We’ll only be needing hair and makeup done for 3 of us. I’ve always pictured myself getting ready onsite, but if I need to I will go to a studio to get ready. The issue I start to have with getting ready in a studio is I hired our photographer to start at 2 PM for getting ready photos and our ceremony is at 5 PM. Does anyone have any suggestions to fill up the time? My fiancé and I will be doing a first look along with bridal party photos before the ceremony. I was thinking of adding in a first look with my dad but couldn’t think of anything else! Any suggestions would be great😊

Definitely keep looking around for a hair/makeup team that will come onsite - mine only required a minimum of 4 services (which could be 2 hair and 2 makeup) so there are def teams out there that will come onsite for you!

As for timeline, we had about the same amount of time between our photographer arriving and ceremony start time. Keep in mind that you and your wedding party will want to be hidden away at least 30 minutes before your ceremony start time and your photographer can get pictures of all the details and you all getting ready too when they arrive at 2pm. We definitely had some extra time after we did our first look and all the wedding party and family photos, but much better to have extra time than not enough and be rushed and stressed right before getting married! We just hung out and drank some champagne and took fun photos before the ceremony began - it was great to spend time with our wedding party because the day rushes by once the ceremony starts!

I agree with Marianne - I doubt you'll have as much time to fill as you think!!

The bridal party needed to split up and get in place about 30 minutes before the ceremony started, and we spent at least an hour between our first look photos and pictures with our bridal party and immediate families!

I'd talk to your photographer because they'll want to be involved in creating this photo timeline with you!

Here's a great photo timeline you can reference as well:

This was my timeline for my big day. It was at my husband's aunt's house.

7:00am - hair and makeup for 7 girls (i think they required a minimum of 5 girls for them to come onsite)
*Bridesmaids went first in case I needed them to run last minute stuff such as grabbing my flowers at the nearby florist
12:00pm - All girls needed to be done with hair and makeup/start getting ready (dress, accessories, etc)
12:45pm - Photographer arrived to start setting up
12:50pm - Groom and groomsmen arrival (bride stayed in master bedroom to hide away)
1:00pm - First look, and pictures of bride and groom
1:30pm - Groom and groomsmen pics
2:00pm - Bride and bridesmaids pics
    2:30pm - Entire wedding party
    3:00pm - Family pictures
3:30pm - Guests arriving (guests waited inside until they were able to come outside to be seated for ceremony
3:50pm - Guests were finally able to sit outside for ceremony (wedding party waiting in the auto shop in the back to hide away from guests)
    4:00pm - Ceremony

For hair and makeup, look on Thumbtack to see what hair and makeup services are around you if Google doesn't help. I'm sure you'll be able to find a service to come out to you for just three girls Smiley smile Good luck!
