Timing of wedding events

Stefanie, on August 12, 2021 at 8:05 PM Posted in Planning 0 9
How did you all come up with the timing of your wedding events? Meaning I am trying to time hair, makeup, and pictures before the wedding. Our wedding will start at 4pm. Any ideas?

Our vendors really helped us so I would recommend reaching out to your hair stylist, makeup artist and photographer for help. Mine put my timeline together for me.

Same as Veronica. I asked my photographer what time he wanted to start 1st look and all the other photos, and then I told that start time to my hair/make up artist, and they gave us a start time for that.

Hi Stefanie! Agreed with previous posters to work with your vendors. For your photographer, you want to “work backwards” so to speak (reception ends at 10pm and you’re hired them for 10 hours, then photographer arrives at noon).
One tip - make sure your timeline has when the venue will have the linens on all tables as florist/setup/cake display all need the linens on first and surprisingly it gets missed! Good luck ❤️

Like others have said, ask your vendors. They would know much better than anyone here.

Talk to your vendors. I also looked online for outlines of timings for weddings. Between the two I have a time line I am happy with lined up.

I agree with vendors asking vendors. First talk to your photographer to see what time they’d like to start photographs. Subtract time needed to travel to venue and time you will need to get dressed (unless doing getting ready photos). Once you know this, you can talk to hair and makeup artists and let them know what time everyone needs to be finished. From there they will be able to give you a start time!
