Tipping

I plan on tipping all of them except for my caterer who has pissed me off as of this morning. In general I plan on tipping 20 percent to all.

We will be tipping all vendors between 18%-20%.

It depends. We’ll be tipping mostly everyone. Our photographer is costing us $6500 so we’re obviously not tipping him 20% especially because he owns his own business. We might throw him some extra money but not 20%. Our videographer is part of a larger company. Again we’ll throw some money their way but not 20% of the whole bill as they won’t be the ones editing etc. only there day of. They have a separate editing team getting paid by the company. It becomes tricky I feel when everyone owns their own business. Because they’re already taking 100% of the profits we’re paying them. So we’ll figure out tipping but 20% for some of our larger bills like catering and hair & makeup when they’re already getting all the money we pay them adds up and next thing I know I’m paying $2k in tips

View Quoted Comment I agree with you 100%. Actually found an article on the knot about it. Most of my daughters wedding vendors own the business. Our photographer owns the business and is 5800.00. Not tipping 20% of that. No way.

We gave $100 each to our DJ, 2 videographers, day of coordinator, and 5 catering staff members. There was a tip jar for our bartender, so we did not tip her and our 2 photographers would not accept a tip from us
