I just moved to the US so I’m still not familiar with tipping culture so can someone explain tipping their wedding vendors for me? I just think that I already pay a large amount of money for good service. Why do I have to again, give them extra money for meeting the expectations. I understand tipping for waiters at a restaurant. At the restaurant, I pay the same amount of money for the food, but I will pay more in tipping for the waiter with the better service. I think that’s fair. But when it comes to wedding vendors, I agree to pay more for a photographer because I already expect her to do better than her competitors. It’s just like paying more for flying first class, I shouldn’t have to tip the attendant for better service since I already paid for that special service. Of course nothing against people who want to tip their vendors, I just feel like it shouldn’t be as compulsory as tipping a waiter.
