Tips for a sweaty bride

Christine , on July 31, 2018 at 9:40 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 19
I am a very sweaty person, I wear men’s deodorant because it’s strong enough to work and I still have to reapply. Last weekend I had gone to a wedding and I was sweating so bad my hair looked wet and my face was bright red. I sweat when I’m nervous, hot, cold... you name it. Is there any other sweaty brides out there? What did you do? Any recommendations? I’m worried about my hair looking wet or my makeup going down my face.

Have you spoken with your doctor about any possible things to help? That’s where I’d start. 😊

Have you considered Botox? Not just for your wedding but in general? Botox has a lot of uses other than anti aging!

I suffer from hyperhydorsis. It's a nightmare. I'm the same way I sweat pretty much constantly. Especially my face and armpits. I only own black or dark colored shirts. I've seen dermotologist, prescription deotetant does nothing. There aren't many treatments. I've read an option of pills for temporary situations that can help. From my understanding they can't be used often but might be work looking into for your big day. I know how mortifying it can feel and be.

Random but I know you can get Botox for sweat purposes. You could do this for your wedding, that way you won’t have to worry about excess sweat! I have seen a few people that got it done in there underarms but I’m not sure about other areas, I think it’s worth looking into

I would definitely recommend seeing your doctor about it! They will have the best advice, but like some of the other ladies have said I have heard that Botox is known to help!

I have hyperhidrosis as well... is such an embarrassing thing ugh. There's a great blog out there called my life as a puddle I just discovered lol. Botox is the only thing that truly works but it's expensive and temporary. There is a face antiperspirant online through walgreens, it worked for my sister but not for me, a doctor can prescribe antiperspirant with aluminum (it made me very itchy). There is also a pill out there, I forget what it's called but the side effect is "dryness". I haven't tried it but my doctor said that it has worked for one of her other patients. Anyway I know that was all very non specific but I wanted to let you know you're not alone! Good luck let us know if you find anything that works!

I too get a sweaty face a lot! I would recommend a really good setting spray (urban decay all nighter) for your wedding day, also keep some oil plotting papers handy and it’ll take away the “wet” look without sacrificing your makeup. For hair the only thing I could say is wear your hair up? That way it’s off your neck and less likely to get hot easily.

Girl get your self a Thompson Tee they’re a little pricey but they’re so worth it!!! I all of sudden started sweating from my underarms a few years ago out of nowhere. It was so embarrassing! I also only wore dark colors and baggy shirts. Then I found out about Thompson Tees they’re a little uncomfortable because it’s a shirt that you have to wear under your shirt but it’s worth it because I can finally wear bright colors again!!!

So, my wedding day turned out to be *THE* hottest day in Texas (of course, right?) and I was sweating like crazy. The room was like 90 degrees (no, I’m not exaggerating). One of my bridesmaids got me these crazy hand-held fans and they saved my life. I had about five of them on me before I walked down the aisle. They were a life-saver and pretty cheap.. I think a few bucks at Walmart/drug store. Highly recommend!!

Cold packs placed strategically before the ceremony? That way there's no dripping.

I am also a sweaty person, particularly mustache sweat. I am making sure I have my hair of my face and neck, and I'm having my makeup airbrushed so it all stays in place. I'm also having my mom haul around an emergency kit with blotting wipes, deodorant, hairspray, and some other miscellaneous crap to touch up my hair and makeup.

I have this problem too! I don't have much advice though. I plan on wearing my hair up so that will help some. I would definitely let you MUA artist know about your sweating as she may have some tips or good products to help keep the shine at bay. And I always carry charcoal oil blotting papers for my very oily skin and it helps with sweat. Also, (embarrassing), I sweat between my legs too...a lot. My friend just told me about Knix thigh saver shorts. I'm a little hesitant because I don't want to wear anything too tight around my waist (for fear of the dreaded muffin top), but she said they are very comfortable and they really help with sweat and chaffing. I might gives those a try.

I use this and it works! I was able to start buying light colored shirts without any worry. They also have it in extra strength. This roll on is wet but needs to be applied at night. They also have an antiperspirant that you can try using on top of this. It’s over the counter and cost less than $8. I’m serious this is worth a shot.

Another recommendation from my doctor was to use a sea sickness patch. I was going on vacation to Florida and I already have issues sweating heavy. So she recommended this but it was just temporary but I never used it so I don’t know if it would work. I just used the certain dry
