Tips for a Vegas Bachelorette Party?

MarryingMarsh, on September 21, 2016 at 1:25 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 18

Hello, We have decided on going to Vegas for my bachelorette party. We are looking more to relax by the pool, hit the spa, go to nice dinners and maybe a show or two. I'm not a huge gambler and I grew out of my "let's get wasted at the bar and act like an idiot" phase quite a while ago. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions on hotels, pools, activities in Vegas? Also, just for an FYI, I have never been to Vegas nor have my sisters/friends who will be going with me, which is one of the reasons we decided to go there. Thank you!

Vegas is pretty much for partying and gambling.

Check out some shows. Which hotel are you staying? Most have nice pools with bar.

Most hotels in Vegas you have to have a room key to access, so you're probably going to stay at the resort pool that you're staying at. Mandalay Bay has an AMAZING beach as a pool (actually, they have multiple pools and a lazy river, but you should bring your own inner tube because the ones they have are super expensive).

Activities: FH and I take a cab over to Gold Coast (off-strip) for bowling. They have $5 pitchers of beers and the bowling itself is pretty cheap. There's also Top Golf, mini-golf, nearby water sports at Lake Mead, etc. Just walking around is cheap, fun too. Each resort is so different. Go to the Bellagio with some drinks and watch a couple shows.

Shows: The Michael Jackson Cirque show is one of the best things I've ever seen--so good I saw it a second time! Rock of Ages is a lot of fun. You can also go and get 1/2 priced same day tickets at a booth on the strip. I've actually had a lot of fun at Tournament of Kings (like Medieval Times) at Excalibur.

Other: I really like New York, New York for late night fun. They have an Irish bar (Nine Fine Irishmen) that almost always has amazing live Irish music. They have The Bar at Times Square that has dueling pianos. Coyote Ugly is also there, but I haven't been. Then you go to Shake Shack for a late night burger yummmm!

Have you already booked things? I don't know that Vegas is where I would go since I am also not a partier/gambler. It doesn't seem like the most relaxing place. If you want somewhere quieter, why not try Arizona or southern California for a resort with a nice pool?

Something that I wanted to do while I was there was a scavenger hunt. They have multiple agencies that will provide you with a set scavenger hunt that sounds like fun!

Also the Ferris Wheel! Just google it. It's huge, fits I think up to 15 or more people to a "pod" and the entire ride lasts about 30 min. It also has a bar inside! Shows are always fun. They have a lot of comedic shows. Helicopter rides, there's a zip line across the tops of buildings. Madame Tussaud's is pretty fun to see as well.

Vegas has a lot to see, I hope you guys enjoy! Smiley smile

I've never been to Vegas and have always wanted to go, which is why we chose it. I definitely like to drink and have a good time, I'm just past the act like a 21 year old phase. And I will gamble, I like Blackjack, but I don't want to spend all of our time in a casino. I want to do a little of everything. Thanks for all the suggestions!

I love Vegas and I love pools, but Vegas isn't exactly relax by the pool. The dance music is thumping at the pool and most people will be super wasted. You will probably want to splurge on a nicer hotel with a quieter pool. The Delano at Mandalay Bay has it's own quieter one you can use in addition to the awesome, but probably not relaxing, Mandalay Beach. The Signature at MGM is also a good option because they have small quiet pools in addition to access to the MGM complex & lazy river. (They only have king beds though). Caesar's has a much quieter pool and their spa looks to die for. We didn't' have time the one time we stayed there, but it has a room that snows on you for after you sauna! I've heard the Vdara and Venetian pools are quieter, but those have always been out of my price range.

If you're not set on staying on strip, the M Resort is a lot less crazy with a nice pool and spa and really good food. They have shuttles to the strip so you can experience it and then return to a more relaxing vibe.

Vegas in general is pretty crazy and might be overwhelming if you don't like to day drink. It's just a lot of people on the strip. But there are fun things to do besides gamble. I second the High Roller gondola/ferris wheel. It's awesome. We haven't had the budget for many shows, but if you girls like country, Reba McIntyre & Brooks & Dunn at Caesars was the best concert I have ever been to.

To second MelissaErin, if you're not committed to Vegas, another desert city with a great pool and spa would be more relaxing. I love the Wigwam Resort in Phoenix- hands down my fave hotel pool, gorgeous spa, good restaurants on site and nearby. I also like both JW Marriotts in Phoenix. The Desert Ridge has a bigger pool complex but is kiddier than the other one. Another option for pool relaxing is a VRBO with a great pool. I did that for mine in Phoenix and threw one in Palm Springs and they were perfect for quality girl time.

The Cirque de Soleil show "O" is the most amazing show ever! Its water-incorporated and I couldn't take my eyes off of the stage for the whole show, and I am not a show person. Also, I went before I was 21 so I couldn't drink and I had a blast just exploring Vegas and shopping around. It's a ton of fun!

Do you like to hike, and will you have access to a car when you're there? Red Rock Canyon is literally breathtaking, and it's only about a fifteen minute drive from the strip.

I don't like to gamble either, but we had lots of fun in Vegas. We basically ate, drank, and walked around/explored. Some of the best restaurants in the country are there. The Venetian was my favorite hotel--I love the décor! And there are a few nice art galleries there. We saw a comedy show featuring Iliza Schlesinger (spelling? I think I got it, but who knows) and Sarah Colonna. I've never seen Penn and Teller, but they have Vegas shows and my FH says they are hilarious.

Our flight got delayed, and to kill time we went to Fremont Street to spend a few hours, since we'd been on the strip for the whole vacation. Don't neglect Fremont Street! There are some stellar breweries clustered there (if you like craft beer) and we went to Pizza Rock for dinner. It was AMAZING.

    Have fun!!

We went and didn't get wasted everyday and party like we were 21 and still had a great time. Did enough drinking and some gambling. You need to see the Blue Man Group show! It was the most fun thing we did in vegas!! We also saw Criss Angel mind freak show which was really good. Also it's fun to just walk around different hotels and check out the decor. And a lot of them have shopping inside. The High Roller is the Ferris wheel thing which was fun. Great views! We stayed at Bally's hotel. The pool there wasn't to crazy we enjoyed it. They also have a nice outdoor shopping area which has some nice shops and good prices. The zip line is fun. We also did the roller coaster at New York New York and the rides at stratosphere. Top golf looked like so much fun but we ran out of time to do it all lol. The flamingo has a nice outdoor area with real flamingos and ducks which is nice to walk through. Also use Vegas.com to find discount tickets or they have some shops around different places with discount tickets but we found they were cheaper on Vegas.com.

Hope this helps! Vegas was a blast I hope you enjoy it!!

Caesar's pool is by far my favorite! They have 5 different pool areas and all have a different vibe. I have been to Vegas 6 times and have stayed at Mandalay Bay, Paris, and Caesar's is by far my favorite!!!!

I would also look into the Go tower at the Flamingo. We just went for our joint bach and the rooms were awesome, we had a strip view with a view of the Bellagio fountains. They had 2 pools,1 a little more mellow and one more party-ish. They are the hotel that has the pod wheel thing. It looks pretty cool too.

Stay at the Cosmo! So beautiful and glamorous.

Visit different hotel's pools. Check out some shows, eat some great food.

Keep in mind everything is going to be expensive.

We went for my best friends bachelorette party last May. How many girls will you have?

We stayed at Treasure Island, they gave us a discounted rate on a block of rooms, were super easy to work with! We also had a cabana at the pool which was amazing and the only way to go in Vegas! We had 3 days in Vegas we are all out of our crazy party stage too but we hit the ground running from the moment we stepped out of the airport.

We hired RT airport limo service through Presidential - we had Ray as our driver he was so amazing we hired him for the whole first night! The second day we went shopping and checked out the strip. We went on the High Roller (ferries wheel) that night we got dressed up and had booked a package through Sin city parties we went to a strip club (the OG's) so much fun, then we had table service at Chateau (again so fun)

The next day was recovery day at the pool the cabana (hello day drinking) was a god send! We met a bachelor party at the pool - a bunch of pilots who had table service at Haakasan so we partied with them all night. The last day was really brunch and then off to the airport.

We had a great time and because we were a bachelorette party once in the clubs and bars we paid for very little!

This wasn't typical Vegas but we took a wine tour with a local company. They picked us up in a limo and drove out to 2 wineries in the Pahrump Valley. One had an amazing restaurant and we had dinner there. A stop at the chicken ranch for a drink on the way back is a must! Fun time!!

I've been a few times, won't be going for my Bach but probably my MOH's. You can change it up. Go to a show one night, then maybe go to Freemont st (old or downtown vegas) another. Then a club the other. Idk how long you'll be there, but from my experience 3 nights is the perfect amount of time there. You can hang at the pool during the day, check out the swanky shops, do a gondola at the Venetian. There is plenty to do there. And be sure to go watch the fountains at the belagio. Totally free and very cool.

Also, you don't need to stay in the center of the strip. Just find a hotel that the tram connects at or is close too. You can get a pass and ride the tram for much cheaper than a cab.
