Speaking of save the dates, should I do them if I’m not having a destination wedding?

They’re not a necessity. My wedding isn’t destination either, but several of my guests are runners and we have a tendency to plan our race calendars several months in advance, so I chose to still send Save the Dates so they don’t go and register for a race that day and then when the invitation comes be like “oh I wished I’d know sooner but now I can get my money back on the race”.
Although after purchasing them I realized I could’ve just done a digital save the date and it would’ve been cheaper.
