Tips on using Spotify for your reception

Andrea, on April 8, 2019 at 11:13 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 4
I am not using a DJ for the ceremony and reception. My bother has all of his band equipment we are going to use for speakers and a mic to hook up to my laptop. And I am going to make play lists on Spotify. Just wanting to hear from peoples experiences doing this and if people have any tips.

I haven't done it yet but I'm planning to do something like this too. Our venue has bluetooth speakers so we'll probably just connect one of our phones to it

This is what we're doing, as this method has served us well for several parties and events we've hosted. As long as you have someone in charge of starting and stopping as necessary, it works pretty well. You can also download the app to a phone and use it to remotely control your laptop, tablet, or whatever other device you're using. Oh, and I do recommend making different playlists for different parts of the reception. For example, we have a playlist of instrumentals for cocktail hour, a playlist of specialty songs (first dance, cake cutting, last dance, exit, etc.), and then a playlist for dancing.

We are doing this too Smiley smile I have heard to be sure to download your playlists and that Spotify premium is a good thing to have for it so there are no ads or anything.

I am following this because I am probably going to do the same.. so you think you should make a playlist or just play one that Spotify has already premade?
