Keep hydrated! We got ready at my parent’s house & my dad made a hearty breakfast. My MOH (my sister) made sure I drank plenty of water. I was soo busy that it didn’t even cross my mind to drink water.

The day will go by so incredibly fast! Take time to stop, take it all in, and enjoy the little moments!

I agree with both PPs. Drink plenty of water, make sure you have food available - and that you at least snack on something, and take the time to stop and take it in - because it really does go by very fast.

I would add that having a super strict schedule is probably not in anyone's best interest, just plan the essentials and go with the flow. We did this, and it made the day so much easier - and we began right on time.

I received 2 pieces of advice which I really appreciated and stuck to myself:

1 - Don't fuss about pleasing everyone when it comes to everything, it is impossible and you will drive yourself mad striving to achieve it; and

2 - Actually take time on the day to enjoy each other's company - it is easier said than done on a wedding day and it is really important to get some down time in together to enjoy the moment.

In terms of tricks, the absolute BEST thing I did was get barbie dolls for my flower girls. Each flower girl (we had two 4 year olds as flower girls) was going to sit with one parent at the ceremony (their other parent being at the altar as part of the bridal party) so in advance we gave that parent a barbie doll we'd bought. On the day we told the girls that once they got down the aisle they could play with barbie dolls we had gotten for them and that made them so excited! Both girls got down the aisle without a hitch and then sat very quietly throughout the ceremony holding their barbies.

Not married yet but based on my sister's wedding, I bought vinyl stickers and cheap champagne glasses to take with me to the place we are getting ready - I know we'll have at least one glass of champagne on the day, and with so many of us being there, plus everything going on, people at my sister's wedding kept putting their glasses down, forgetting where they left them and getting confused about whose glass was whose. We ended up having to put berries from the breakfast platter in the glasses to remember!

So, glasses with vinyl names were a cheap and very convenient solution.
