Hi everyone, I know covid is obviously still a thing. But after three postponements, a lot of money wasted, and doing basically every fun wedding event wearing a mask I am just tired. I just want my wedding day to feel "normal". We finally got the green light to have our wedding this June, but our governor also made it clear he will roll back any moment. Does anyone else feel like all this has taken the fun and excitement of their big day? Are you all going forward with your wedding plans even if you have to wear a mask? Let me know if you can relate!

We postponed our 2020 wedding to this summer. Not cutting down on guest list and just going about it as normal as we can. I’m not feeding into the fear so much this time. I know people who still got hitched and had big weddings in 2020, even the same day as mine. It’s not fair that some people get to have their big day while others don’t. I’ve already been to a 100+ personal reception earlier this year and it was executed fine. Temperature at the door, servers wore masks. Dinner and dancing per usual. No one was forced to wear masks. Everyone left that party fine and healthy. No complaints. Gonna go about it same way for our wedding. We already got the all clear from our venue that they will be fully open in late spring so we are ready. We have some guests who still don’t feel comfortable attending (like best man) who most likely won’t attend the reception only the ceremony but those people could be replaced Smiley smile

Yes!!! SO TIRED. Actually, this whole process has been really eye-opening for me...so many of us are encouraged to chase this very costly unrealistic idea of a "big day" and I've been reflecting on how unnecessary it really is. Of course, it's wonderful to make a commitment of love in front of those closest to you but everything else surrounding weddings seems so pointless now. We're on April 1 with a ~45 person guest list and we're moving ahead regardless but, yes, there's a part of me that can't wait to get it over with because of the stress, uncertainty, and judgement. I'm sending good energy your way!! Smiley heart
