...there IS a solution!!!!!! A few weeks ago I posted a discussion in reference to my period starting on my wedding day. I have the copper IUD {{a/k/a Paragard}} which contains NO hormones and since having it inserted, my periods have become a bit longer and heavier. Having my period on my wedding day would be a nightmare and I was desperate to find a solution. Well, ladies, I called my OB/GYN and she prescribed me a pill that's supposed to delay {{yes, delay, LOL}} my period. It's called Norethindrone and you are supposed to take one pill a day beginning about 5 days before your period is scheduled to start. The more days to take the pill, the longer it will be delayed. But as soon as you stop taking it, your period will start. This is absolutely safe for me to use since my IUD is hormone free. I don't think you can use this pill if you are on any other forms of birth control, but ask your doctor just to be sure. I'm just happy to know there is an option :o}

    @ Jamie - I actually googled herbal ways to delay your period and I couldn't find anything. Like you mentioned, I did find a few options of how to bring it on early but I'm not sure how that would work out for me. Trust me, I thought about going the natural way before I called my doc...lol

    @ Chuwana I know those are side effects of other stuff as well but some people don't research and thought it would benefit everyone to know

    As a physician, I know the physiology behind "that time of the month" and only allow myself to have a period sometimes like 3 times a yr! I just continue my bc pills and when I want to have a period I stop taking them. Having my period on my wedding day or honeymoom would be terrible! so ladies...keep taking those pills!
