To backdrop or not to backdrop

DT, on June 2, 2016 at 12:37 PM Posted in Style and Décor 1 19

Meeting with our planner next weekend and I am in quite a mental dilemma about having a backdrop or not having a backdrop. The room is so beautiful by itself I am worried that if I have a backdrop it will take away from the room, but I can see where it looks more wedding'ish' if I do have a backdrop. I have attached pictures of the ceremony room with a backdrop and without. Which do you prefer?

FYI - Current decor includes two floral arrangements at the beginning of the aisle and two at the end and 90ish vases with candles lining the aisle.

Thanks!

Both looks are gorgeous. In this case I would go with whatever is cheaper!

Beautiful space with and without. Ceremony is short, so I would go without it and use the money elsewhere or in HM.

    I love the natural background.

I think the real reason a lot of weddings have backdrops is to make s space prettier or more neutral. Yours already looks wonderful.

One thing I would recommend is maybe looking at pictures of other couples married in that space to make sure no odd lines are distracting.

I say no backdrop either, and that is an amazingly beautiful space.

No backdrop. The architecture and colors are really really nice, don't hide 'em!

WAY better without IMO. The room looks bigger, grander, and more beautiful/unique. Adding the backdrop to me sort of makes the room look generic. The only benefit I see is from a photography POV and it's that taking pics of the ceremony from a distance will likely be easier with the backdrop but honestly with it being white I think you will just blend in to it unless you dress is non-white (and in an ivory dress you might have other issues).
