To chair cover, or not to chair cover....

Alright, so I'm trying to figure out if I should dress up the chair in the first picture. To be honest, I do not feel like spending the money on chair covers. I thought I would get them in my wedding package, but I had to choose between the covers or a cake (cake won).

My wedding colors are Royal Blue with Coral as the accent. I am using the table runner in the next picture. I've also included a picture of the reception space.

Will the chairs work without the covers? Should I dress up the plain chair with coral tulle? Or, should I just spend the money on the covers and use royal blue sashes?

The only time I say get chair covers is when they are the plastic or metal folding chairs like FutureMrsB said her venue comes with. People throw jackets and shawls over chairs when they sit down so no one will notice them.

Thanks for the input. I did get lucky with the chairs. I guess I am just paranoid about this whole decorating and accessorizing thing.

Although it is ultimately your decision, I encourage you to reach out to smaller businesses as they may not only be able to transform the appearance of your event but make it cost effective. Generally, the venues provide this option but at a price two to three times of that of smaller businesses. I am speaking from experience as I have many brides who end up choosing my company and can't believe the price difference.

Best of luck and remember that your special day should be about you so whatever makes you happy, you should go with Smiley smile

    Hi Duska,

Thanks for the suggestion. The company I would have went with for the chair covers was local (linenhero.com). Through my wedding planner's discount, the cost for the chair covers would have been about $1.50. That is a good price, but still was not a part of my budget.

I was able to find coral tulle on the cheap, so I will be using that to dress up the chairs.

As a former banquet waitress, the chair covers especially with a bow becomes a tripping hazard. I would spend half the night pulling them back up. They look pretty for the first ten minutes, then they are a mess.
