To pee or not to pee, that is the question... I HATE UTI's!!!

Laura M, on May 16, 2012 at 11:00 AM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 20

This may be TMI but as most of you are women, I am sure that there are some people who can feel my pain right now. UTI= Urinary tract infection and they freaking suck. -_-

This combined with TOM= HELL!

Thanks for letting me vent Lol Smiley sad

UUGGGHHH!!!! I hear ya!! I have had them -absolutely terrible!! Drink plenty of water and cranberry juice and get an antibiotic! Sometimes you can call your doctor and they will call a RX in for you.

Rachel- Agreed! They should have come up with some kind of vaccine by now lol

JoAnna- I must have had about a gallon of cranberry juice and have taken cranberry pills. I am sick of cranberry juice, and am headed to the clinic for some drugs!

The best for UTI is all natural cranberry juice, no sugar and works amazing!

They are awful!!! When I have had them in the past, I have gotten an over-the-counter medication at Walgreens or CVS... usually in the isle with the other feminine products, but I highly suggest it... you take two of these tiny little tablets and it takes away the urge to pee. Warning... it turns your pee bright neon orange, but it is a miracle worker!

Im dealing with one right now. this is like my 8th in 12 years. if you dont get the antibiotic and treat the source youll never get better. all i had to do was go to patient first for an hour and now im getting better.

lay off booze, soda and coffee!

I feel for you, I had one a couple weeks ago.. Everywhere I read, drink cranberry juice. Same thing dr said, along w/antibiotics. But after drinking half gallon of expensive non-sugar juice, I was ready to puke it, my stomach couldnt handle so much (not to mention I hate the taste - I cant eat cranberries w/o puking)

Saw a tv add for Cystex, cranberry supplement. I got it at walmart (cant remember $ but it was cheap enough). take 1 or 2 tbsp a day, more if you feel the need to. It's not a uti fixer, it helps to prevent future uti

These are horrible! I had it only once, but I initially didn't have the pain with I used the bathroom. I just had a terrible pain in my abdomen. It got so bad that I couldn't move. Go see your doctor ASAP! The meds will treat it, instead of just relieving the pain.

I used to get them all the time. Like three or four times a year. This was after peeing after sex, cutting out sugar and a daily cup of cranberry juice. MD told me I was probably more susceptible due to three 9lb babies and slight damage to the bladder.

A few years ago I switched to cranberry capsules that I buy at Costco. I take 2 each night regardless. If I feel a UTI coming on then I up the dose to 4 and take a few in the morning when I wake up. I haven't had a UTI in 2 years.

I guess I am one of the lucky ones. I am 30 and only had a total of 2. The first one was bad. I have a bad back so I figured it was my back. I finally got my heath insurance sorted out and went to see my Dr. The tested me for UTI and the reading was off the chart. I had waited a week to go after the pain was so bad.

I hope that you are going to get your hands on some Uristat or something similar. Going to the doctor for an RX for antibiotics is a good thing to do, but they won't make you 'feel' better for days. Uristat works within a matter of 30 minutes to an hour and all the pain is just gone. No need to suffer, run to CVS or Walgrees and get yourself some meds girl!

I have them all the time (or used to) and the miracle for me was a drug called cystex. Its found near tampons and such at walmart. It takes away the urge to pee. Its amazing. And will help until you get a prescription. Smiley smile
