To Tent or not to Tent

We are having an outside wedding and reception. I'm debating a tent. I know the "weather issues". We got prices for a framed 40 * 60 Tent. We'd do leg draping. But then the inside, not liner, but just putting fabric up that would cover the top, in criss crosses, is an extra $1K. Which I'm not sure...

Which I'm not sure we can afford.

I'd rather just skip the tent all together, and have tables on the lawn, the lawn is beautiful. My FH doesn't want to take this risk. Thoughts? Wait closer to the day, we have 10 days to adjust our rental to decide? Then he's worried that they might all be in use.

I don't want to have a tent w/o the drapery on the inside. I think the poles you can see up top would not look so nice. Thoughts? Do people even notice? Is it worth the extra 1K?

There is a rain plan, but its not that good.

The most helpful thing I read when wedding planning was "you won't remember what your wedding looked like, you'll remember what it felt like" (thanks A Practical Wedding). That alone saved me so much stress and money!
