To veil or not to veil

I am getting married in less than 3 months, on April 3, 2021 (#4321!). This is our second wedding each, it will be a perfectly small gathering and last 4-5 hours with family and close friends. I had the big 90's veil the first time around but am really not sure about it this time. My fiance says he can't see me wearing one (which doesn't mean I won't wear one lol).

Is everyone into veil's now or do any of you find yourself in the same situation, just unsure that it's for you? Maybe I'll see one and know it's 'the one' because I have not even found my dress yet. Still on the hunt!
Thank you and good luck to all you beautiful brides out there!

Hi Shelley! *psst we're name twins (almost)!!*

I think a veil is all personal preference. I don't want to wear one, and I've never envisioned myself wearing one on my wedding day. Lost of brides change their mind though once they wear one with the dress, so you never know! I think trying a few on while dress shopping is a great way to figure out if it's your style or not!

For me, when it comes to a veil, I usually decide based off of the dress. There were a couple of dresses that I liked/tried on that I knew didn’t need a veil because the dress was such a statement piece on its own. But for my dress that I’m wearing, I’m still going to wear a cathedral veil because I want to go big or go home! My dress only has lace and no beading, so the veil will compliment it more. I think certain dresses don’t need a veil, but it all depends on how you want to look for your big day!

    4321! Hey date twin!
I hated the idea of one until I tried one on at the store. I haven’t bought one yet, but it made the look “complete” in some weird way. However I’m not 100 percent sure I will buy one. I hate the idea of it being in the way.

I agree! I does depend on the dress. The dress may not need a veil. I have a couple in mind that I've found online but not in my city so I'm going to make appts at bridal shops to just try some on and see where it takes me. My fiance wants to go with me and see all the dresses I try on. lol He's a goof but also enjoys shopping with me and seriously thought he would see me in my dress beforehand and I'm like UH, NOPE. Ha

Cyndy- This is beautiful! Great choice. I was thinking of going with exactly the same...flowers on one side instead of a veil. I love this. Smiley smile

I originally wasn't going to wear a veil to our minimony this summer. I wore a short white dress I found online, not my wedding dress, so I didn't even think about it. My photographer (who was also a friend and also an amazing person) brought her veil from her wedding a few years ago "just in case." I put it on for some pictures and did not take it off. Idk what it was but putting on that veil made me feel so bridal, even though the rest of my attire was fairly "normal." I would suggest trying veils on and seeing how you feel! If you don't feel anything then you probably don't need one. But if you do then you'll know!

Thank you. I got them from Etsy and they were very inexpensive.
