Toast--How much Cider should I get?

Brenda, on June 24, 2012 at 4:31 PM Posted in Planning 1 12

So, as you may know, I'm one of the young brides who will not be able to drink at the wedding. That coupled with the fact that it's a pain in the butt to get the stuff in line for the other guests to have alcohol, we decided to go with an apple Cider Toast.

My dilemma, however, is that I have no clue how many bottles to get. I only plan to use it for the toast and there are going to be roughly 80 people attending. Each bottle is 25oz, so I don't know how many to buy. I found a great deal on them at Costco which was a 4ct for $8.79.

If you're serving in flutes, you need no more than 4oz per glass. To make it easy you can say 5oz per person so 5 per bottle, or 16 bottles.

Edit - That's for a half flute, which is pretty typical for a toast.

Sparking cider is nice for toasts and you can dress the glasses up with a fruit garnish.

I'm thinking about doing cider too! we are having alcohol but me and FH are not a big fan of champagne so I will see if they can do a sparkling cider toasts instead or one of those other sparkling drinks that I can get

I'm doing the same thing but (if I can find a good recipe) I'm going to be making it at home......so if 5oz per person so 5 per bottle, or 16 bottles (20 to be safe) am I looking at 500 oz or 14 - 15 litres? did i do that right? (I also have approx 80 ppl) Thx Smiley smile

Thank you Brenda for this post... I am thinking of having cider as an option for those in my guest list that don't drink also my fiance & I are of age to drink but don't like champagne either lol. Definitely going to check if Costco still has this deal or if the price slightly changed... Also from my math I'm guessing I will need 8 packs of 4 ct for 120 guests.

I drink but my fiancé doesn't so I'm also looking at/for non-alcoholic options, and am open to finding a dry toast idea that looks a lot like champagne.
