As a mom, I wouldn't be comfortable with having someone I didn't personally hire watch my child so I wouldn't leave my child with whoever you hired. I would either have a family member or friend watch my child, hire someone on my own to watch my child, or skip the wedding.

I agree with Veronica and it seems to be the general consensus on this forum. If you choose not to invite children, that’s fine but most will not want to use childcare they haven’t vetted themselves.

    I did!

But I hired my friends' nanny, so she came 'pre-approved', as it were. Most of the kids/babies at our wedding weren't really interested in being away from their parents, but the nanny was a helpful backup/child herder. We also had the kids as guests.

If you do this, and you are having a wedding close to home, try to hire someone that the parents may already know - an old roommate, one of their regular babysitters, or younger sibling who wouldn't be invited to the wedding, etc. Basically, someone they already trust.

    I did!

but mine is different since i only hired them for the ceremony and she was the church's nanny already so everyone already knew her and was comfortable with her watching over their kids
