Together with their families alternative

Rachel, on January 17, 2022 at 9:00 AM Posted in Planning 1 7

My parents want to us “together with their families”, but I do not like it. Any other suggestions to signify both families are giving us away?

Another option is to have the more traditional wording of "Mr. and Mrs. John Doe invite you to the wedding of their daughter Jane to Joe Smith son of Mr. and Mrs. James Smith"

Otherwise, you could have programs that note your families in some way.

Unfortunately, "together with their families" or "together with their parents" tends to be the easiest.

Are your parents contributing to the wedding? If not, then you can do whatever you want. If so, they definitely get an opinion.

Another wording option could be something similar to this:

Here is the website I found it on (which has a bunch of other ideas too): https://www.brides.com/story/guide-to-wedding-invitation-wording

Or how about "Mr. and Mrs. Turner with Mr. and Mrs. Pierce invite you to the wedding of (in larger font) Aria and Robert... Sunday, Eighteenth of March...

You could do "Aria, daughter of X and X, and Robert, son of X and X, request the pleasure of your company..."

That's a tough one...I'd say maybe "The Parents of"...to make it a little more simple than some of the other suggestions but I think that's about it besides what has already been suggested. I didn't personally like the wording either and just got rid of that line all together but if you want to signify your parents giving you both away that doesn't work either.

We didn't specify the families at all on our invitations. My husband's parents are divorced and remarried, and my mom is deceased. It was too complicated to reword things "just right".
