Too Many Registries - What To Do?

Tiger Bride, on March 7, 2020 at 7:56 PM Posted in Registry 0 2

I know this is a first world problem, but...

FI and I currently have three registries for a total of maybe 150 gifts, including "multiples" (e.g. 10 open stock glasses = 10 gifts). I don't think we have "too much" on there by any means.

Here's my problem: we picked out our "fancy" dishes (Lenox, open stock), and they are now out of stock at BBB and BBB has no idea if or when they will be back in stock...for months now. I'm thinking of making a separate registry with Lenox (who has them) just for these dishes. I told FI about this and he thinks that 4 registries is too many, even if one or two of them only have a few items on them. We have a website through The Knot so I could add anything from anywhere on the Internet with the "add to knot" thing, but I thought guests might not see them if they weren't tied to a particular registry.

What should I do? These dishes are one of the items I'm really excited/hoping for, so I don't want to just "pick another pattern" like the BBB person said I should do Smiley amazing

We have 4 registries and only 2 of them have a bunch of items. The other two only have a little bit of items but it’s still stuff we would like that can’t be bought anywhere else. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with having four! It definitely gives people options.

I think you’re overthinking this. Leave the dishes on the BBB registry. If someone really wants to get them for you, they’ll do some digging and find the Lenox site. For example, some of my guests found that certain Crate & Barrel items were not in stock at our local C&B, but they sure were in stock at the Pottery Barn nearby so they got the items at PB.

Otherwise, you’ll likely get at least a few cards with cash or checks. Use the cash/checks to get the dishes.
