Too Revealing?

Brooke, on May 2, 2017 at 6:23 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 135

So I got this from Rent the Runway, it was a designer I'd never worn before so I decided to do a test rental and see if the dress would work for my Rehearsal Dinner (instead of waiting and hoping that it fit and end up potentially rushing to find a dress the day of).

I love the way it looks on me, I really like the way it is so risqué but doesn't show too much. However, after FH zipped up the dress last night he says it may be too revealing for a "family affair." So- I'm curious what you other ladies, and gentlemen, think of it! Bit of back info- our RD will be at a fancy-ish Steak & Seafood House, only family is siblings, parents & grandparents.

You're rockin' that dress! I don't think it's too revealing.

I personally would not wear that, even if I looked as awesome as you do. You can see cleavage all the way around the boob and it's slit all the way down to the belly button--that is way too much for me!

Girl you look smokin'!!!! Rock that dress. It's not revealing.

If you're concerned with moving parts, get some dress tape and tape those babies to the dress!

You look great but that's a dress I would wear to a club night out with the girls but not in front of my father/FILs. If your SO commented, I think you should really take that into consideration. Not that I'm someone who let's a guy tell me what to wear, but if he says it might be too revealing for the family, I'd also seriously weigh that in my decision

I think it looks great! If you had a large chest it might look risque, but looks just right on you!

Thank y'all! Making me feel much better about this option!

StPaulGal, actually my bellybutton is below where the white starts, but I definitely get the conservative view!

I think you are beautiful in this dress, but I can see where FH is coming from- it is a bit revealing for a rehearsal dinner. If you're having a bachelorette party, maybe consider this dress for that! I just don't know how comfortable you or FH would feel if you dress this way in front of your future in-laws and such.

I love it! But, I'd wear it to my bachelorette instead. I'm weird about stuff like that though. I have implants and sometimes feel awkward having something low cut in front of FFIL lol

WHY NOT? if you put your hair down and try to tone it down by wearing flats or something it can work. You look good girl! Wear it now because later on you can't haha

Lisa, you're correct I can not make alterations however if you're referring to the length of the dress, I can use hem tape to shorten it. I'm 5'2" so I was thinking of puling it up to right above my knee-not too much, just it is a little bit of an awkward length

Red2018, I can totally understand that, I have family who have implants and they feel the same way. I am small chested though, a Bcup on a good day, which is why I feel as though it isn't too revealing
