So I got this from Rent the Runway, it was a designer I'd never worn before so I decided to do a test rental and see if the dress would work for my Rehearsal Dinner (instead of waiting and hoping that it fit and end up potentially rushing to find a dress the day of).

I love the way it looks on me, I really like the way it is so risqué but doesn't show too much. However, after FH zipped up the dress last night he says it may be too revealing for a "family affair." So- I'm curious what you other ladies, and gentlemen, think of it! Bit of back info- our RD will be at a fancy-ish Steak & Seafood House, only family is siblings, parents & grandparents.

    It looks awesome on you! I think if it didn't have that mesh part covering your cleavage, then yeah, it might be too much. But it does, so I say go for it!

    I think it looks amazing on you as well. But not for the RD. I'm with your FH- it's a bit much. Think of everyone attending. Would they cringe like my family would?

    Very pretty! I think this is a "know your families" kind of situation. I can see how some people would find it appropriate, but if I wore that to a family affair I know I'd be getting some serious side glances and be the topic of unwanted gossip.

    I wouldn't feel comfortable wearing something like this in front of my FILs. But, If you feel comfortable in this dress then go for it!

    You look beautiful, and the dress is amazing! I know I, personally, wouldn't be comfortable wearing that around FILs. It sounds like FH is trying to hint that it might be too revealing for his family. Which isn't to say that you can't wear it- it's your decision, not theirs. It all comes down to your comfort level!

    I typically dress conservatively and I think that is a LOT of cleveage. You look great, but I can see his concerns. Is his family usually more traditional /reserved? He may be trying to tell you that it's too much for them.
