Torn illusion back

romtina, on February 26, 2020 at 6:02 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 4
Has anybody had small holes in the mesh/tulle of an illusion back successfully repaired? I just discovered two very small tears on my dress. I probably caused them myself when pulling on and holding the dress's fabric while trying it on (to get a better idea of what it will look like when the top fits closer to my body) . I hope this is fixable and I did not ruin my dress... :-(

It may be possible, but the extreme delicate nature of illusion is very tricky to repair and it will likely stick out and be visible.

Best option is probably going to be to have the illusion fully replaced.

I would ask your seamstress what your options are.

How large are they? They may not even be noticeable!

I doubt you ruined your dress, there are ways to fix those holes.

Your seamstress might be able to replace just the mesh. Or she may add appliques or some other embellishment over the holes.
