Touring my venue

I kinda feel like I'm ahead of the game too. We're getting married in May, got engaged at the end of June. I've already got the venue, caterer, officiant, DJ, and day-of-coordinator. I know I've still got a lot to do (hair & makeup, dress, decorations, invitations, what else am I forgetting lol), but I think I'll definitely be done "planning" before the beginning of next year and just playing the waiting game until it's time to send out invites lol

You are definitely on top of it! That's the way to go. My FH thought I was doing the most with meeting with the caterer and the venue a couple weeks after we talked about getting married...but the early bird gets the worm. She changed her prices a month after I met with her, but agreed to honor her lower prices if we booked with her (SCORE!!). Keep up that "ahead of the game" attitude...I feel like it helps bring down the stress later on as the date approaches, because a lot of details are out of the way. WTG!!

These forums are FULL of plan-ahead brides!! I feel like non-plan-ahead brides don't have as much time to post and read forums on the internet LOL

We booked our venue, photographer and HAMU before we were even engaged! We've been engaged for 3 months and we have everything (including our honeymoon) booked! The ONLY things we really have left are to order the bridesmaids dresses (which are picked out, we're just waiting for a sale) and the guys' suits. People keep saying we're ahead of the game, but I couldn't fathom waiting any longer to book things. Now we can just relax!
