Traditional Makeup vs. Airbrush Makeup??

Does anyone have any advice on which is better: traditional makeup or airbrush makeup? Does one typically hold up better than the other throughout the day? Does one take less time to apply? What are the pros and cons of each? Which one are you choosing for your wedding makeup, and why?

I definitely plan on trying out airbrush during my makeup trial! I agree, it seems to be dependent on skin type as to whether it will work out or not. Hoping that my makeup artist can do half of my face with airbrush and the other half with traditional, so I can compare them. Glad to hear that airbrush worked out well for you!

I love the idea of doing half and half! I also don't normally wear makeup, so this whole topic is one that I know absolutely nothing about, lol. I definitely plan on asking my makeup artist for her opinion based on my skin type, but I will also ask if she can do half and half so that I can compare both. Thank you for the suggestions!

I agree that having the makeup last all day is super important! I am not familiar with setting sprays, but that is definitely good to know that they can't be used with airbrush! I will be sure to ask my makeup artist about that. Thank you for your reply!

Very cool that airbrush makeup works well for your fiancee! I've heard both positive and negative things about airbrush, but it also sounds like it highly depends on the skin type of the person wearing it. I honestly don't know how airbrush would work for me (I don't typically wear makeup on a day-to-day basis), but definitely something to ask my makeup artist about. Thank you for your input!

I will be having my make up air brushed because it lasts longer and it deal with humidity better and I live in a very humid area! I have had my makeup airbrushed before and it was flawless and couldn’t see lines or anything!

Good to know! I'd definitely need my makeup to tolerate humidity lol, hoping that it'll work out for me as well. Very cool that airbrush worked out so well for you!

It all depends on your skin type which one will look better! Most airbrush makeup has some hyaluronic acid component to it, making it great for normal to dry skin. However, if you have oily skin, this may not work so well for you. The best way to test it out would be with a trial with your MUA. He/She should be able to try out both types on your skin to see what works best for you. Personally, I have drier skin, so I'm going with the airbrush, but it all depends how it will lay on your face.

I am definitely planning on a makeup trial, so I will be sure to ask my makeup artist about what she recommends! I'm honestly not sure how it will react with my skin (I don't typically wear makeup), but it's good to hear that airbrush might work out well! If either type will work for me, I'm thinking for the trial, I'll ask her to do half of my face with with airbrush and half with traditional, just so I can compare them side by side. Thank you for your reply!
