Traditional Mexican Wedding Timeline

Meliza, on August 3, 2021 at 12:00 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 1 7
Hello! I’m getting married in April 2022 and I need help creating a reception timeline that includes; the bridal entrance, first dance, parents dance, toast, cake cutting, garter/bouquet toss AND all the traditional Mexican wedding dances that are the Mandilon, muertito, baile del dolar, and la vivora. I’m just not sure in what order everything should be for things to run smoothly. Our reception will be from 5:00pm to 12am

Hi Melina! Here’s what I would suggest:

    5:00-5:15- Bridal Entrance 5:15-5:20-First Dance5:20-Blessing5:25-Dinner Served5:25-Toasts7:00-cut cake7:10- Parent dances7:20-Garter/Bouquet Toss7:25-open dance floor9:00-Traditional Mexican Dances to begin
Keep in mind if you want sunset photos to google the sunset time in your area and put in timeline. Our DJ was really helpful with our timeline and worth running it past your DJ/band and by your photographer. Good luck and hope this helps!! ❤️

Hello, I am having the same issue and the exact same time line. What song are you planning for the father daughter dance? My dad is older and mainly listens to Rancheras so I'm struggling to find a good song.

Hi Meliza!! We started with out reception entrance and went straight into our first dance, then also did our toasts and parents dances during dinner. Here's a good order of events for American receptions you can use as a starting point:

Your Wedding Reception Order of Events: A Simple Step-by-Step Timeline

El Baile Del Mandilon usually happens after La Vibora and before the cake cutting!
