Transportation for vip Guests

Katie, on August 30, 2021 at 2:50 PM Posted in Planning 0 3

How do you decide transportation for your VIP guests before the wedding? For example, bridal party members, mothers, fathers, anyone who might be in pictures beforehand? FH and I thought about having a SO of the bridal party take us from the hotel to the venue (about a 10 minute drive).

Bridesmaids and I will be getting ready at the venue in the morning and FH and Groomsmen, along with parents and siblings, will need to be in pictures at the venue before the ceremony.

We are still unsure about whether we are going to provide transportation for guests after the reception, but I still feel like regardless I should take care of all my VIP guests. Any advice on this??

My mom drove myself and two of the BMs, my MIL drove the other BM; H drove himself and we left in his car, FIL rode with one of the GM, the other two drove themselves. At the end of the night FIL left with MIL, two BM rode with two GM (spouses), the BM left in his own car as he had driven himself, and the last BM left with her husband, who drove himself and their infant as he was not in the wedding.

If you're going to provide transportation for guests *after* the reception, then you need to provide it before the reception - people probably aren't going to want to leave their cars overnight. Honestly, I wouldn't worry too much about people's transportation, VIP or not.

It would be nice if you provided transport for your out of town guests from the hotel to the venue, but it's not required. Often nice transport shuttle buses can carry 20-35 persons easily and you have them for several hours, e.g. 5 hours total. If that is not possible, your guests can Uber. Don't forget about yourself though.

Hi Katie! Like Becky said, you want to think about transportation before *and* after the wedding (and think about where your guests are staying!).

If everyone is coming from and going back to the same hotel then it could be pretty easy to get them transportation both ways, but you don't want to take care of their transportation to the wedding but then leave them without transportation back home at the end of the night!

You can also just have them drive themselves! Smiley smile Covering transportation isn't required or expected!
