Transportation for Wedding Party to Welcome Party

Hi - we're doing a welcome event for our guests + wedding party in lieu of a formal rehearsal dinner. We weren't planning to provide transportation from hotels to the welcome party (ubers available, parking etc. are readily available in the area). we ARE providing it for the wedding day.


Is this OK? I feel we're all adults and can coordinate how to get there on time! it's also not mandatory - purely optional and meant to be casual!

    I have never heard of coordinating transportation to the rehearsal dinner or welcome party. You're totally fine to not do so.

    Adults can arrange their own transportation to the rehearsal and dinner following.

    I think that's okay, especially if your guests are staying at different hotels. We did provide transport for all guests, not just the wedding party, from the official hotel to the welcome party location.

    Sounds perfectly ok to me, especially because we did the same thing! We had a big welcome party and left it up to guests to figure out their own transportation (we're in a major city with plenty of Ubers, etc.). Our welcome party was also on the more casual side (we had heavy appetizer stations, not a plated meal) so we figured people would want to come and leave at different times.

    I think that's perfectly fine since it's just the rehearsal dinner!

    No one is going to expect you to provide transportation to the rehearsal dinner.
