Transportation RSVP

Claire, on October 24, 2017 at 9:13 AM Posted in Planning 0 7

I'm planning on both a mail and on-line RSVP option. Does the RSVP wedding wire link allow customization so they can indicate their transportation needs as well?

I was thinking of doing that for the shuttle to make sure I get one large enough to get everyone to the reception in one trip. The place I talked to say that I can have the shuttle make as many trips as I want, but I don't want people to show up for the shuttle and then have to wait until it comes back because there are not enough seats.

The reception is on a country estate and a 45 minute drive from church and hotels. We're providing bus/coach transportation from church to reception and back to a hotel loop at the end of the reception. In past experiences a good 1/3-1/2 of the guest will still drive their own car. I need a transportation RSVP along with attendance to provide for enough busses.

I forgot to actually answer the question. I don't know if the RSVP link allows that (I'm not to that point yet), but you could include a link to a doodle poll or google doc to allow people to sign up for transportation.

    I agree with Kristin's suggestion!

First - create a new event called "Transportation". Go to your Guest List under Planning Tools and click on the More tab, then click on Create new event.

Once you have created the event, you can add it to the RSVP tool on your wedding website. In the website editor on the RSVP page, click the wrench icon to edit the settings. You'll see a Manage RSVP Tool window pop-up that lets you turn on/off RSVP settings for each of your events!

Are those directions outdated? I am having a hard time finding a simple way to add a transportation page to our website in which people can sign up for a shuttle...

Hi Nicole! You're correct - those are outdated directions!

If you just want to add a new page to your website with transportation information and a sign-up link, you can use any blank page and re-name it for your purposes! I think the Wedding Blog page works best as a "blank page" template, but you can also add transportation information to the accommodations page if you think that makes more sense!
