Traveling before wedding

Katie, on October 23, 2017 at 11:04 AM Posted in Planning 0 8

My fiance is going on a work trip the weekend before our wedding. Generally these trips are to nice locations and I frequently accompany him. However, this time I am worried about running into last minute issues.

To the soon to be married or already married, did a lot of things come up the week prior to the wedding? Do you think it could have been taken care of the days leading up to the wedding, or will being around the weekend before be invaluable?

DH travels a lot for work. It was nice to have a couple days off before the wedding. It was invaluable for us. But we had to travel 5 hrs for our wedding and needed that time. Probably wouldn't have if our wedding was local.

We both worked and I traveled to a neighboring state the weekend before our wedding. My husband and I both took off work starting the Wednesday before the wedding and it was be perfect amount of time for us to get last minute things handled. We didn't have a lot to do as we got a lot done early so it was just packing the car, packing bags, gifts, etc.

Is it something you can decide closer to? If you end up getting most of your stuff before then done, it may be nice to have some "quiet time"

You have almost a year, why not wait until your closer. He may not even travel before the big day, maybe his work will cancel it or tell him not to go because of the Wedding.

I personally would not go. The weekend before i will be busy packing, getting nails and hair done and any last minute errands.

I agree that you should wait some time before you make this decision!

Thanks for all your input! It would be flying across the country and getting back Monday (wedding is on a Friday). It is a little early to finalize, but I have quite a few commitments next year with a limited number of vacation days, so just trying to budget my time accordingly!

    Leaning towards going. Thanks!

I took off work the week before my wedding but if you aren't able to do that I would think you would need the weekend for last minute details. I know my hair and makeup trials were the Monday before the wedding. I had a hair appointment for cut and color and I was running around trying to buy last minute gifts and such. I needed an outfit for my bachelorette night and things like that. I wouldn't have planned a trip the weekend before the wedding but we did go on a trip a few weeks before. Hope that helps.

Good day! I have a weekend trip to Connecticut in mind and I'm keen on exploring the state's attractions and points of interest. Any information you can share would be fantastic!
