Traveling with my Wedding Dress

I would suggest keeping it in your (locked) carry on baggage, just in case your checked bag gets lost. You could vacuum pack it to save room.

I agree. You need to carry it on with you and do not let it out of your sight. I would put it in one of those folding suit bags.

Sometimes you can have the gown in a garment bag and hung up in a cabinet on the plane, but I think this is based on availability and can be difficult if you are taking multiple flights.

I'm planning on carrying mine on and then waiting to store it until all other carry on luggage is stored so that I can lay the dress on top. That or see if they have room to hang it but I dont imagine the room is enough for a long wedding dress with a giant train....

Hmm. waiting is not the best idea. maybe try to get people with small carry-ons to put there's in a compartment and then add your dress on top. Get early in the line so that you will be able to orchestrate this before space is taken up.

That's a good point. The booking lady did make note of the fact that we were traveling to our wedding so just walking up to the desk and saying hey this thing needs to not be squished or folded please help me would probably be a better move
