Traveling with wedding dress

My wedding is across the country and the bridal salon is going to ship it for me in advance. I have family at the destination so I’ll just ship to their house. It just seems easier than packing it for me.

Generally the bridal store will provide a garment bag, but if not, the type of bag to store it in is going to depend on the size and style of dress you have.

Mine is in a bag with more width at the bottom since it's a ballgown, and is fully sealed (I know some garment bags are open at the bottom). I would look for something similar.

Hi Amber! Depending on the style of your gown, I'd look for an extra long garment bag so you aren't folding or wrinkling the dress as much!! I'd also look for a thick and durable fabric that is water repellant or water resistant since you'll be travelling with it!

My wedding dress came in a paper thin garment bag which would not work!
