True but it was more the case of having an j realistic budget to begin with for what we wanted. I was hoping to stay around 12-13K but we ended up around 15. Not a terrible over budget but definitely a solid 2-3 grand over.

True and False, we set a budget, then once I saw the real cost of everything we increased our budget.

I 100% relate to the last meme! I never made a budget really. I just picked what I wanted and am making the money happen. if all we can afford is X amount of dollars than we will find a vendor that will make that work. That said if we had lined out a budget I would say yes True we are way over!

True! We originally thought we could have a wedding for around $5,000. That was before we found out how expensive vendors are. Now our wedding is looking more like $13,000.

True. I definitely underestimated it the first time, then the second time, and now I think we're on track for $15k for 100 people.

True, but then my mom said she'd help, so then we redid the budget a bit. So now, false.

Well I had no idea how freaking expensive everything is. So I’m on track for my heavily revised budget.

I think were pretty well in budget. I haven't had my mom raise the red flags at me yet! Haha

That's great to hear, MisstoMrsS! Yeah, I have poor perception of prices of things a lot of times, especially of wedding prices.

Yeah, that's not too bad of overbudgeting. What pushed your budget over the edge?

Sadly, it was kind of a death by a thousands cuts kind of thing. A lot of small things ended up being unavoidably more expensive than planned, desirable food choices we had to add for vegtarians (mainly ME), alterations being over planned cost (no shocker there), make up and hair being more than budgeted, all only around 100-200 dollars over and just added up! So no big splurge or change in plans. Just so many small adjustments... in the wrong direction 😅

This is how we were too. We originally thought, 'we can totally do all this and everything that we want for this much!' but once we started pricing things out and talking to my parents we basically doubled our budget. We've already surpassed our original budget, but we're on track to come in way under our new budget. We also still try to book things according to our old budget, even though we have more to spend we try not to.
