False. So far we’re under budget. We decided to add more guests. We’re doing so well we may even add a few extra.

True and false. I started with what I thought was a small budget, fiance agreed - but the family convinced him I was being a bridezilla. Back to the drawing board we dropped our budget a few thousand, but I'm still being criticized...I'm losing the battle but we're just starting to put deposits down for our end of summer wedding this year. I'm already convinced it's going to be an uphill battle.

This one is going to end up being true. We haven't personally spent more than planned but we've had unexpected contributions for things we weren't going to have so once you add those in we're over the original budget.

    False, false, false.

My twin sister got married in 2017, so to make things fair (their words, not mine), my parents have given me and FH a budget that is equivalent to the exact total of my sister's wedding. We've got all the 'big things' booked now, so have the prices for them, and I estimate we'll spend about 60% of what my sister did. Anything we don't spend, we get to keep, and we'll use it to do up our house, so that's an incentive to try and keep the budget as low as we can.

False. We wound up being way under budget because we got a nice number of declines.

True! My fiancé set a budget of $14k. From the start I knew we would be closer to $25k. So... yeah, lol.

I do calculations of everything and see exactly what we can afford . I have set 3 different budgets just because (if something goes over or less) As for right now we’re staying on the not too much not too less budget.

We don't really have one. But lots of my family members came up to us and asked if we needed help. And lots of them are giving us $$

I have a 4k budget and I am at 3.6k. I have a little wiggle room and we are making most of our stuff for the wedding.

That's amazing!!! I'm so proud of you both! I usually hear about people having to cut the guest list because of costs, but you sound like you're doing the opposite!! Woohoo!!

LOL. Did you have a better idea of how expensive weddings can be, Mattia, or did your fiancé just take a more optimistic look on the matter?

I like that, Melissa. Do what you can for the wedding but make sure you have plenty of time and rest afterwards! Smiley laugh
