We have our venue choice down to 2 right now (the Dana at mission bay and Disneyland hotel). We are visiting a third (San Diego safari park),
the Dana is by a beach and has lovely bay views and is cheaper. Ceremony outdoors by the bay followed by reception in a ballroom with glass windows. Which you can see a hint of bay through and can head outdoors for a breather.
Disneyland hotel is Disneyland with a lovely ceremony site followed by a ballroom reception which is not as magical and needs some dressing up to make it less of a ballroom. They have a smaller space with windows but it only fits 120 which is lovely but we might have upwards of 150.
Both fit with our vision but differently. We hike, go to Disney, the safari park, enjoy wine and go running. Our guests are 60-70% in town (her family and our friends with my family out of town). We want a be a bit resistant to getting married at Disney at that what is lots of our family/friends want and expect from us. Both local coordinators at each are organized and run a tight “shop” and we think our day would be special at either. We have looked at both of their Instagram and both look great.
I know this is a first world problem but looking for advice at how to choose between two great sites. For disclosure, neither of us is the walk into a venue and go “aha this is it!” moment. Appreciate the groups wisdom and thank you in advance.
