Tux Vests for a July wedding

Kristin, on October 4, 2021 at 9:19 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 4
Is it okay to do just vests for a summer wedding, no jackets? It is going to be hot out and the jacket seems too formal, it’s a morning wedding on the water.

Yes, absolutely. It will be less formal, but it sounds like that would suit your vibe. I'm sure the groomsmen will appreciate it too.

That said, my sister's wedding day was over 40 degrees C (over 104F) and the guys wore jackets and it was doable, if not pleasant so you could totally do them if you wanted!)

Ahhh, thank you Rose! Sounds like either way would work. My girls are wearing sweetheart chiffon short and long with goes with the dressy and/or less formal vibe. it should work to mix things up.

Totally okay! We had friends do just suspenders, no vest or jackets. As long as the attire your wedding party is wearing is in line with the dress code, I think just vests would suit a summer wedding well. It would be out of line to have a formal (or black tie, white tie) wedding with people just in vests, but I think it's appropriate for a semi-formal or more casual wedding.

That’s great! My fiancé is a little more casual and we have kids that may be swimming and then dancing as we are thinking it is going to be a hot summer day! Thanks!
