Twine Wrapped Boutonniere - How to wrap them?

I'm doing a very simple Baby's Breath boutonniere for my wedding. I am just wondering the easiest way to wrap the twine and have it stay on the stems. I realize this may be a silly question, but I'm stumped. I know floral tape would be good to hold the stems together, but I'm really hoping to get ideas for the best ways to keep the twine on - glue, pins, etc? Any help would be fantastic!
