We didn't go for a mini-moon or anything. We actually went on a family vacation there with husband's family a few years ago, so well before covid, but it was definitely a great time. We went white water rafting, which was super fun and gorgeous with the mountains in the background. Highly recommend it.

Oh I didn't know there was white water rafting there. We had planned to do the Biltmore for Christmas since we were going out there later in the year. That has been on my bucket list for years. *sigh* maybe next year.

We did Disney/Universal... but I would hold off on theme parks until after COVID.

We are having are mini-moon at Washington DC, since we've never been there, and we really want to explore the museums, but I also recommend taking a road across California.

    Hi Alexis!

We’re getting married Oct 11 and decided we didn’t feel comfortable flying yet so started looking for places for a road trip (from PA) that neither of have been! So we found this beautiful beachfront hotel in the Hampton’s (Montauk) that we’re gonna go to from Mon-Sat. We have a backup plan to go to our favorite hotel in AC just in case— bc I feel like we need multiple back up plans with Covid! Lol We’re having a larger celebration in May and the hope is to travel overseas to Greece then but who know when things will be open at this point.
I’m so happy we decided to treat this as our real honeymoon as opposed to just something until the “real one.” We’re so excited! Maybe start with what you both love! For example my fiancé loves road trips and things that look rustic without actually being in the woods haha and I LOVE the ocean so when we found this place, we knew it was perfect for us.
Good luck finding somewhere perfect for you two to celebrate your marriage 💕

Our honeymoon will be England and Ireland but we might have to put it off til next year. So we decided somewhere in the USA like Georgia, Virginia, Washington, or possibly a weekend getaway in our home state Florida and we talked about Vancouver, Canada as well just for a weekend until we can go on the main honeymoon. Either way, I'm excited I love to travel and I get to do it with my man!

Fingers crossed we are getting married in January and since I work in schools we probably won’t do anything until summer or spring break.

We are near the Dallas area & have decided to find a lake house within 3-5 hours for our honeymoon. We aren’t comfortable flying & don’t want to travel out of state so it seemed like renting a lake house was our best option. I hope this helped a little. ❤️

If California is appealing to you - I'd go to Big Sur/Carmel. We stayed in Carmel and have spent some time there, and in Monterey. It's absolutely beautiful, and easy to social distance if you stick to outdoorsy things, which there's plenty of. We just got back, and drove near a couple fires, so be aware of fire season depending on when/where you go.

Hi! We ended up budgeting for the hotel and stayed at Candle Light Inn in Carmel - kinda dingy outside but the inside of the room was nice - we stayed in the Premium King Suite. It's a short walk to Ocean Dr. which is a big attraction with little shops and leads right to Carmel Beach! There's plenty of nicer options though. Carmel Valley Ranch looks AMAZING. I'd go there if you can! But there's fires all around right now, so it may not be the best time to visit there. Smiley sad
