Uber black?

Lindsey, on June 7, 2017 at 4:50 AM Posted in Planning 0 14

I saw some people on the discussion speak about Uber Black for the way home? I was wondering how it worked out for people? I know Uber you are normal at the mercy or what ever uber drivers are out there... so technically if there are no uber black in the area the plans could be foiled?

Im having my wedding on a Sunday, that will end 11pm. The hotel is a ten minute drive but the area isn't heavily populated

We took one to travel around for photos. It was a $25 minimum where I live. Still, everything was fine.

Are you local to your venue? If so maybe go around there on a sunday night to see what's available. Is this Uber Black for you to go home or your guests? If its for guests they'll probably be cool with any uber available.

I'm about 30 minutes from the venue.

I'm sure some of my guests will use regular uber but for our "exit" photos I figure a more "lux" looking car would be better

I looked into this myself. I was able to figure out that if there is NO uber black driver in your area at the time you need, you are out of luck and stuck with a different uber. When you open the app, put in a route, you will see the different ubers available at the moment, (uber, uber XL, uber black, etc)

It's too bad we can't schedule ahead.

    Uber black:

"UberBLACK offers an elevated ride experience.

    Black towncars

    Professional drivers

Great for business or date night"

It's a fancier way to ride

It might make more sense for you to rent a Lincoln or something like that so you know it'll be there. You can find groupons for them on occasion.

We used uber black Suv for getting to Venue. I planned my uber pick up a month before the wedding. We also used uber events for guest. We live in boston and got married 45mins from the city in a quiet town that shuts down by 11. Going to the wedding it took me and my maid of honor 5mins wait. I did schedule one for a half hr after reception ended a month in advance. It was only 3mins late as it took a wrong turn but it was great. We did have 2 guest that ordered one when the wedding was over and it took them under 20mins to get one. Its worth it if you plan it out as well as cost effective over a town car, limo or Rolls Royce

I used uber SUV to take me back to the hotel after reception. I scheduled it same date for a specific time right after reception. My experience was good and I'm glad I went that route. My other options were renting limo/town car but needed to rent for a minimum of 4 hours.

Not sure what the difference of Uber Black vs. SUV is.

How were you able to set it a month before the wedding? I'd love to do this!

Can't you schedule an Uber ride for a later time/date? I believe you just can't do it with the carpool, not sure though.

Black has professional drivers and specific luxury cars. SUV is anyone that drives for Uber that has a SUV
