The airwall is the large wall that separates a ballroom if the size of you wedding only needs half of the room. They say most of them are somewhat sound proof. For instance....my wedding is only about 150 people, but the ballroom holds over 300. So they put up the wall to make the room fit the wedding size. Its just a large plain wall, floor to ceiling, across one side of the room.

You could try to cover it with a flowing fabric. (That's what we're doing behind the bridal table to hide the exit signs.) That could get a little expensive though. If you're doing anything to decorate the other walls just treat it like the other three. But maybe doing something different to "hide it" will end up making it stick out. Some ideas to think about. Hope it was helpful.

Hi Sheri, There are lots of fun things you can do to cover air walls: As someone mentioned before, you can use fabric. There are lots of rental companies that specialize in "piping & draping". You can also work miracles with up-lighting. Mixing and matching a variety of colors that marry well with your theme can create a dramatic visual effect. One of my other favorites is adding a "gobo" - back lit icon or logo's specially designed for your big day. It could be your monograms or an outline of an image that ties nicely with your event design. Another fun thing is some of the special effect or designed lighting that can cast patterns onto the wall. Finally, you can combine any of these. In the end, you can have an ugly air wall that is designed as fun or beautiful work of art lending great design to your event! Be sure to work with your wedding professionals to make sure that whatever you do fits nicely with the over all theme of your room. Good luck!

Using lighting is a simple and inexpensive way to change the look of your airwall. You can color it or place shapes/designs on it using lighting. Check with your local a/v rental company or DJ.

Try using balloons maybe a balloon arch, or columns, they are great for background pictures and good for hiding walls, and they will add beautiful color to your wedding, and try balloons on the tables they make great centerpieces.

All very good ideas. As mentioned pipe and drape is usually the best option but pricey. Another option depending on the venue is to not use the air wall at all and get folding dividers from a rental company. But this will not work if the other half of the ballroom is being used for another event at the same time. Just a thought.

All good ideas. But to the person who wanted to use something to cover up the exit signs, I'd suggest reconsidering. Exit signs are there for a reason.
